A busy time for LSEG! Two weeks ago, the International Monetary Fund / World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, DC acted as the premier platform for engagement with policymakers, regulators and market participants across the global economy. LSEG CEO David Schwimmer participated in the Institute of International Finance Global Outlook Forum, joined Semafor’s Liz Hoffman and PNC CEO William Demchak at the SEMAFOR World Economy Summit, and sponsored an IIF reception at UK Ambassador Christian Turner’s residency speaking alongside Rachel Reeves, CS Venkatakrishnan and Tim Adams. Across the week, a few themes stood out. Geopolitics and AI are increasingly intersecting to reshape markets, while the pace of innovation continues to outstrip policy, sharpening the focus on governance, infrastructure and data sovereignty. At the same time, elevated geopolitical risk mirrored by relatively subdued market pricing raised questions around underpriced tail risks. These discussions reinforce the importance of trusted data, robust infrastructure and informed decision making.
