Let’s dive into JLo’s journey! ⬇️ ➡️ Jennifer Lynn Lopez was raised in the Bronx borough of NYC. She began taking dance lessons at the age of 5. ➡️ After graduating high school, she began to study business while enrolled as a full-time dance student. She eventually decided to leave business school to pursue her dance career. ➡️ After her first job as a broadway chorus member, she landed as a dancer on Yo! MTV Raps in 1990. She eventually landed a job as a “Fly Girl” on the sketch series In Living Color. ➡️ She left to series to become a backup dancer for Janet Jackson. ➡️ JLo’s career pivoted in 1994 when she landed a reoccurring role on the TV show South Central. She continued to land roles that lead her to star role as Selena Quintanilla-Pérez in the biopic Selena in 1997. ➡️ In the same year, she landed another star role in the horror film, Anaconda. ➡️ In 1999, she relaunched her music career and in 2001 she became the first woman to have a number one film and album at the same time. ➡️ She has maintained her acting and music career since then while pursuing other avenues such as an American Idol panel judge, releasing a book, a Las Vegas residency and a capsule collection partnership with Giuseppe Zanotti. ➡️ In 2018, Time named her one of the most influential people in the world. ➡️ JLo also served as an executive producer for Hustlers, a film she also starred in. ➡️ Some of most notable, recent performances have been at the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show, alongside Shakira, and at the 2021 inauguration of President Joe Biden. ➡️She isn’t stopping anytime soon! JLo will star in few films expected to release in 2022. ➡️ Lopez also signed a deal with Netflix to produce a variety of films and TV shows through her production company, Nuyorican Productions.
