On 10 and 11 June, the Health Protection Department of the LNS - Laboratoire national de santé participated in the OHSI & ISES Europe Workshop 2026, held at University College Dublin (UCD) in Ireland. Organised by the Occupational Hygiene Society of Ireland (OHSI) and the European Chapter of the International Society of Exposure Science (ISES Europe), the workshop brought together more than 100 experts from across Europe under the theme “Prevention is Better than the Cure”. The programme covered key topics including occupational hygiene, exposure science, human biomonitoring, workplace safety, air quality and chemical risk assessment, while highlighting the growing role of exposure science in major European initiatives such as the European Green Deal and PARC (Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals). The event provided an excellent opportunity for the LNS to showcase its expertise and ongoing scientific activities. Teams from the Environmental Hygiene and Human Biological Monitoring (EnvirOH) Service and the Medical Expertise and Date Intellignce Service (MEDI) contributed four oral presentations, reflecting the department’s commitment to advancing knowledge on environmental exposures and their impact on human health. The presentations addressed: • Characterisation of the indoor chemical exposome through multiresidue analysis of house dust (Emilie Hardy) • Indoor Dust as a Marker of Residential Metal Exposure: Evidence from a Nationwide Approach in Luxembourg (Dr sc. Matteo Creta) • Comprehensive PFAS Biomonitoring in Serum and Plasma Using a Validated LC-MS/MS Method (prepared by Dr Maria-Mirela Ani and presented by Dr sc. Françoise Schaefers) • Case study for occupational exposure to mixtures using the MCRA software as part of the PARC project (Dr sc. Maria Torres Toda, PhD) We congratulate our colleagues for representing the LNS at this important European scientific event and for contributing to discussions on exposure science and public health prevention. #ISESOHSI2026
