Last week, we hosted a series of maritime nuclear events at our London headquarters, bringing together the Maritime Nuclear Consortium (MarNuc) and the NEMO - Nuclear Energy Maritime Organization communities to discuss the rapid progress being made across the sector. LR is proud to play a leadership role in both organisations and was delighted to support events throughout the week, including the MarNuc and Government Update and Social, the MarNuc HAZID (Hazard Identification) Workshop and the July NEMO Workshop. A key theme of discussion throughout the week was the need to integrate two well-established but fundamentally different regulatory systems: the international maritime framework and the national/international nuclear regulatory framework. Through continued engagement with MarNuc in the UK and NEMO internationally, industry, regulators and other stakeholders are working together to align these two regulatory systems and enable the safe deployment of nuclear-powered ships and offshore nuclear units. #Nuclear #Maritime #EnergyTransition Jez Sims Meg Albrecht Keith Johnstone Virginia Crosbie, FNucI
