With an internationally recognised track record in primary care cancer research, Professor of Family Medicine at LKCMedicine and Co-Director of the Research Institute for Cancer Prevention, Screening and Early Detection (RISE) Prof Jon Emery brings deep expertise in risk-stratified screening, genomic medicine, and translating research into real-world clinical impact. At RISE, Prof Emery leads initiatives in multi-cancer early detection and genomics — a mission that is deeply personal. Inspired by his father, who tragically passed away from lung cancer during Prof Emery’s first year of medical school, his passion for the field was later sparked by unexpected opportunities during his GP training and an Oxford-backed fellowship.
