🧠INSIDE NEUROTECH WITH LIZ MOYLES- WEEK 28 🧠 This week saw the launch of Crux of Neuro, a dedicated podcast I host with CEOs, founders, Leaders, KOLs, and Investors in the space. It is an unscripted raw account of the stories behind the leading neurotech start ups, their breakthroughs and the road to success. It also discusses the role of working with KOLs and the challenges in adoption, reimbursement , setbacks, and learnings. The first episode launched this week with Jim Surek a veteran of the MedTech industry whose career spans 35 years and 7 M&As including a notable exit of Advanced Bionics $3Billion acquisition by Boston ScientifIc and his recent exit of Valencia Technologies also to Boston Scientific. This was an incredibly powerful interview and Jim shared many defining moments in his career as well as raised some key points such as – is expertise a hindrance to curiosity and commercial success ? No one cares if your product is cheaper, faster, better and explained why the key is working with the multi-headed customer. Jim shares the commercial playbook he’s used to build and scale teams across spine, neuromodulation, and urology, from selling medical supplies out of a catalogue to leading the commercial strategy behind some of the biggest exits in the industry. Elsewhere Hyperfine | AI-Powered Portable MRI Swoop 2 gains CE mark and launches in Europe. Theranica's now has insurance coverage crossing 158 million lives. Neuspera Medical Inc.'s milestone was a CMS payment code. Regulatory approval used to be the finish line. Now it is closer to the starting gun. Ultrasound had its own moment this week, with Gestala and brain monitoring keeps creeping earlier- NeuroBell in the NICU, Wavelet Medical in the womb. Lots of interesting news this week and check out the Crux of Neuro podcast with Jim Surek- link in comments!👇
