During a recent visit to Brussels, Senior Director of Government Affairs and Policy Alan Farrell saw Liquid Gas Europe’s Building Energy Everywhere showcase; a care home in Rotselaar, Flanders that demonstrates practical decarbonisation. The ADEM facility moved from oil heating to LPG with efficiency upgrades, and more recently to Renewable Liquid Gas, 50 solar panels, and smart energy monitoring. The result? A warm, reliable, low-carbon care home. This project shows how liquid gas and renewable liquid gases can deliver immediate emissions reductions in hard to electrify buildings, off the natural gas grid, highlighting the need for technology neutral policies to meet Europe and Ireland’s climate goals.
