Two major U.S. research universities have opened new zebrafish facilities in the last three months. The University of Maine expanded its zebrafish infrastructure with NIH funding, tripling daily experimental capacity. The University of Cincinnati launched its first-ever zebrafish facility, focused on reproductive health and environmental toxicology. This is not a coincidence. The scientific community has made a decision. The model has proven itself in drug discovery, in disease modelling, and in toxicology. But regulatory bodies are also moving forward. Recently, the FDA published a draft guidance for the use of NAMs in drug development and explicitly named zebrafish as an example. The question for pharma and biotech is no longer whether zebrafish belongs in the preclinical toolkit. It's how fast they can integrate it. We've been asking that question at ZeClinics for over a decade. We are glad we already have a facility with +50,000 specimens.
