📢Tomorrow the European Parliament Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection will hold an exchange of views with the European Economic and Social Committee on the evaluation of the Market Surveillance Regulation. The review of the Market Surveillance Regulation as part of the upcoming European Product Act will be key to address a major gap in EU rules: ⚖️the lack of a liable economic operator established in EU for product compliance for products offered on online sales. In LightingEurope's latest Online Mystery Shopper Exercise 🛒 76% of 442 products checked online were non-compliant with information requirements. It is important that in the upcoming revision clear liability for all EU product related rules are established and that listing and re-listing of non-compliant products is prevented.
