š¢Last week co-legislators reached a political agreement on the Omnibus IV package. Ā The package marks a first step towards increased digitalisation of product information that will be finalised with the European Product Act, expected in Q3. The package amends several Directives and Regulations, such as the Low Voltage Directive, Radio Equipment Directive, Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive, and RoHS Directive. Ā What will change and why it matters for your company? Based on the information available: Ā š»The Declaration of Conformity becomes digital and should be accessible with the least amount of steps. šInstructions of use can be provided digitally and users will have up to 24 months to require the printed information. š¦ŗSafety information will need to be printed where it is foreseeable that the product could also be used by consumers. šProvisions on common specifications are aligned to the Toys safety Regulation and there are limitations the Commission's freedom to adopt them.
