Institute of Science and Technology, Skolkovo is a project of the Swiss architectural bureau Herzog & de Meuron, winner of the Pritzker Prize. The silhouette of Skoltech can be seen from afar. A ribbed facade trimmed with light wood with angular folds of the roof cannot be confused with anything. The project is LEED certified. One of the challenges is to apply smart lighting control solutions. Limiting gloss was one of the most important design challenges. It was necessary to comply with the standardized UGR values. The task was set to prevent the glare of natural light from the windows from being reflected off the luminary in the off state. For this, a special lighting plastic was selected, with which the devices are equipped. LTE has offered a centralized lighting control system, which allows to control lighting according to a scenario and control energy consumption. All luminaries are DALI controlled. In each luminary model, structural parameters were optimized and the characteristics of reflective and scattering materials were selected to meet the requirements for limiting brightness, UGR. Each laboratory has its own design concept with similar wall colors and finishes. Luminaries are made for each laboratory in the same RAL color as the surface.
