Nature Communications Engineering | 560 GHz wireless transmission 112 Gbps wireless at 560 GHz — LIGENTEC's SiN microresonator at the heart of next-generation 6G backhaul. Researchers at Tokushima University demonstrated single-channel photonic wireless transmission at 560 GHz — well above the congested 300 GHz band — using a silicon nitride soliton microcomb as a compact optical frequency reference for THz generation. By phase-locking two DFB lasers to adjacent comb lines, the team achieved HD-FEC-qualified 16QAM at 28 GBaud, setting a new benchmark for sub-THz photonic links. The SiN ring microresonator at the centre of the system — 560 GHz free spectral range, Q factor ~10⁶ — was custom-fabricated by LIGENTEC. Our ultra-low-loss platform doesn't just enable datacom and sensing; it advances frontier research in the wireless infrastructure defining 6G. 📖 Read the full paper: https://lnkd.in/ey3FcmsS  👉 Explore our technology: https://lnkd.in/e4_CuavF #SiliconNitride #TerahertzPhotonics #6G #IntegratedPhotonics #SiNPhotonics #NonlinearOptics
