12 August: The clock is ticking for the PPWR applicaton. For many packaging companies, the number of unanswered questions has been growing faster than the number of answers. Now the EU Commission has now published an initial guidance document in an attempt to clarify the most important questions and provide interpretations. We've pulled out five that probably matter most for plastic packaging and processing companies, trying to translate them into what they actually mean for your day-to-day: → PFAS: no sell-off period for food contact packaging → Recyclability: an extra 24 months for "Design for Recycling" details → When a plant pot counts as packaging (and when it doesn't) → Manufacturer vs. producer: who carries which obligation? → Labelling: harmonised EU labels will replace national systems Swipe through the carousel for more context.👇 The guidance creates no new law. The European Court of Justice remains the final arbiter of legally binding interpretations. However, it provides a clearer indication of how to proceed. 💬 Everything perfectly clear now?
