A very warm #welcome to Maxim Chu who has joined the #LRDC to pursue a PhD. Maxim received his integrated Masters (MEng) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from UCL in 2025, graduating with First Class Honours. Expanding on both his degree and academic/professional research experience in #artificialintelligence and #machinelearning (ML), with particular emphasis on Bayesian optimisation and #naturallanguageprocessing, Maxim is now undertaking his PhD studies at the University of Cambridge. His doctoral research explores the implementation of advanced deep learning techniques for next-generation communication systems. Maxim’s broader research interests include #energy-efficient analogue optical #computing, free space #optical #communication, orbital angular momentum multiplexing and various ML techniques for signal processing.
