Tomorrow marks 💛 Heart of Gold Day 💛 a key fundraising initiative supporting our charity partner, Family Carers Ireland, as part of National Carers Week (8-14 June). Lidl is firmly committed to recognising and championing the invaluable, often unseen contributions of family carers within our communities. To help raise vital funds, Lidl stores nationwide are selling Heart of Gold pins for just €2 throughout June, with all proceeds going directly to Family Carers Ireland to support their incredible work. Family Carers Ireland is the national charity providing critical resources, guidance, and support networks to over 50,000 family carers nationwide. These individuals provide essential care for loved ones with additional needs, disabilities, or long-term illnesses. New research recently conducted through our Lidl Plus app among customers who identify as family carers highlights the significant pressures and challenges they face: 📌63% of respondents reported feeling overwhelmed and operating at a "breaking point." 📌24% of those surveyed provide essential care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are multiple ways to get involved this month. Special Heart of Gold flower bouquets will also be available in-store during National Carers Week. Shoppers can also support Lidl store teams as colleagues across all 191 stores take part in charity spinathons throughout June. Additionally, Lidl shoppers can donate their Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) deposits in stores nationwide throughout the year, helping raise ongoing funds for carers and their families. This June, we are calling on everyone to support this campaign. Every contribution, regardless of scale, directly funds vital services that ensure family carers are seen, valued, and supported.
