✈️ A Change in Routine I travel often for work and being on a flight has become second nature. Pick a seat on Southwest, hope for a little personal space, put in my earbuds, catch up on a show during takeoff and eventually pull out my laptop to get some work done. Today was different. A man named Stefan sat next to me, and it was clear he had never met a stranger. Within minutes, I learned he was 65 years old, had been married for 43 years, was an Army veteran, and the proud father of four daughters. When I asked why he was traveling to Nashville, he told me he was on the way to his next job as a tour bus driver for celebrities and well-known bands. The stories that followed about his experience with that the last 26 years were fascinating, funny and full of life! I didn’t open my laptop once, and I am glad I didn’t. Sometimes when our routine takes an unexpected turn, it opens the door to something better. A simple conversation with a stranger can lift your mood, shift your perspective, and completely change the energy of your day. Here’s to more “Stefans” out there reminding us that every day is an opportunity to sit still, be present in the moment and appreciate the people we meet along the way in this crazy journey we call life. 💛
