I wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate Pat Gelsinger and the many brilliant engineers who are still around and the ones who are no longer at Intel Corporation, who made yesterday's 18A announcement possible. We need to recognize that things like semiconductor process technologies are developed over years at the cost of billions in R&D. They don't just happen overnight or in a year. To Pat's credit, he took a huge gamble. I always thought 5N4Y was incredibly aggressive and bold. It proved to be that, BUT, 18A is the golden node introducing RibbonFET (GAA transistor architecture), and PowerVia (backside power). It looks like it is going to happen in a very critical year and phase of the 5N4Y road map. Bottomline, Panther Lake and Clearwater Forest, in particular, are coming home to roost with key tiles fabbed on 18A and packaged out of Intel Foundry. Again, congrats Pat for taking the big bet. Congrats to all of the Intel engineers past and present. The bet and your efforts seem to have paid off.
