Thank you, Andrew Kraft, Emilia Kraft, and all the sponsors for a fun night under warm summer skies. I channeled the spirit of Sebastian Maniscalco, who's playing Jones Beach this summer, so here's what I think he'd have said last night. What is this? The "Not at Cannes" party? Everybody's talking about the French Riviera. You know what they don't have in France? Andrew and Emilia Kraft throwing a bash at a roof bar on West 26th Street. And the spread. Are you kidding me? The salami wasn't laid out, it was folded into little meat accordions. The fruit was glistening. I looked at a blackberry like, "Who shined you? Did you get a wax before the party?" Then Andrew gets up and starts talking about friendship and trust, and I swear it was like my dear departed Italian grandfather at the microphone. That old-school "sit down and let me tell you about life" energy. If he'd actually been in the room? Forget about it. Sobbing mess. Can't wait for next year.
