Discover more from 'Fathers & Figures' by London-based photographer, Renee Osubu - a project commissioned by Leica and @bjp1854. The commission theme was 'Witnesses of: The Everyday' and in line with the brief, Renee's primary aim for the project was to convey the “natural”, everyday reality of Black Londoners. Renee's photography is imbued with her innate sense of compassion for her subjects and has made it her mission to have a reciprocal relationship with those she photographs. Documenting children and other sensitive social groups is nothing new to Renee. In 2016, she founded Capturing Miracles, a programme designed to inspire disadvantaged children in Philadelphia through photography. Since then, she has expanded her focus to children and their guardians, keeping her sensitive approach intact. “It’s about being as reassuring and transparent as you can,” she says. “I’m always aware that the minute you pick up a camera and put it in front of somebody, you are creating a small barrier.” Discover the full feature article here: https://bit.ly/3wZWf16 Camera: #LeicaM7 #LeicaSL2S Lens: Summicron-M 35mm, Summilux-SL 50mm f/1.4 & Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm
