Globally active biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has exercised an option to acquire obesity drug startup SixPeaks Bio. In connection with the deal, Lenz & Staehelin represented AstraZeneca, while Walder Wyss Ltd. advised SixPeaks Bio and its shareholders. The reported amount includes an upfront payment of USD 170 million, as well as an additional fixed payment of USD 30 million and USD 100 million based on achievements of certain regulatory milestones.
