In the wild prairies of Mrah el Ziyat in, lies a field of aromatic plantation. Atef Abi Nader grew this ancestral activity in the region into a business producing and selling aromatic and medicinal plants. He also diversified his line of products to include beekeeping and tea herbal infusions. His approach to doing business is highly responsible and based on 4 pillars: Ethical production (GAP), a focus on quality, respect of environmental biodiversity and last but not least community development. Agricultural industrialisation is a major objective for Atef, because it allows Lebanese products to tap into worldwide markets by boosting their export potential. #LEEP matched 50% of his loan from ESFD, which allowed him to increase his production of honey with 18,000 new beehives and to renovate an agricultural room which led to the creation of 2 jobs: a full-time and a part-time job. He also benefited from the expertise of Saber Middle East in the area of access to markets and a focus on export. Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office
