Mission complete. Rig on its way home. As part of the construction of a new 6 km bypass road between Uruti and Ahititi – replacing the existing steep, narrow, and winding route over Mt. Messenger – LCS supplied a materials ropeway with a 20 t payload capacity. The system provided access to a large embankment dam at the entrance to the planned tunnel. Once the work was done, the entire ropeway was dismantled and is now making its way back to Austria by sea – a logistically complex journey spanning multiple continents. Five years of planning, logistics, operations, and decommissioning on a mountain construction site in some seriously unforgiving terrain, halfway around the world.
