Sadyattes (r. 637-635 BC) was the son of King Ardys. His wife Lyde, was his sister and queen. Sadyattes’ reign ended in 635. In alliance with the Lydians, the Scythians under King Madyes (r. 658-625 BC), son of Serua-eterat and King Bartatua (679-658 BC), expelled the Thracian tribe, Treres. Sadyattes was succeeded by his son, Alyattes, as the fourth king of the Mermnad dynasty. Alyattes was the father of Lydian king Croesus (r. 585-546 BC), Queen Aryenis (wife of King Cyaxares). Croesus was the father of Atys, and grandfather of Pythius. Aryenis’ was the mother of King Astyages (585-550 BC) and Queen Amytis. Astyages, was the father of Queen Mandane of Media, mother of Persian king Cyrus the Great. Mandane’s husband, Cambyses I (r. 580-559 BC), was king in eastern Elam. Astyages also had a daughter named Amytis, who would become a wife of Cyrus the Great. Amytis, daughter of Aryenis, was the wife of Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II (r. 605-572 BC) who deposed King Jehoiachin of Judah (r. 597) and installed Jehoiachin’s uncle Mattaniah, changing his name to Zedekiah. #ButIAmYourServant
