I was delighted to open the new Consulate General of Ireland in Melbourne as my first official engagement on my St Patrick’s Day visit to Australia 🇮🇪🇦🇺 This is Ireland’s third mission in Australia and marks a major expansion of our presence here. As we celebrate 80 years of diplomatic relations between our two countries, the new Consulate reflects our strong and enduring partnership. It also recognises the vibrant and longstanding Irish community in Melbourne and across Australia, whose contribution continues to strengthen the deep ties between our countries.
