Clifford Chance has appointed seven of its lawyers to the newly-formalised tier of 'local partner', which sits outside of the firm's global partnership structure. The role having existed for a number of years, but was previously assigned to individuals largely on an ad hoc basis. The local partner role is salaried and is open to lawyers across the firm's global offices. Among the newest additions to the now-formalized local partner tier are two lawyers in New York and Frankfurt, as well as lawyers in Singapore, Amsterdam and Sao Paolo.
