The International Law Section is looking forward to welcoming delegates to the first session of the ILS International Law and Practice Course 2026 in Sydney on ๐—ง๐˜‚๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†, ๐Ÿฑ ๐— ๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฒ. Professor Ben Saul will speak on the topic of โ€˜New "wars on terror": defending human rights through the United Nations in a world on fireโ€™. As the Special Rapporteur on human rights and counter-terrorism, an independent UN expert, Professor Saul will explain how the โ€œSpecial Proceduresโ€ mechanisms of the Geneva-based UN Human Rights Council work to protect human rights in the current climate.
