Olive Claire Jones (July 19, 1889 - October 24, 1925) was a constant supporter of Delta; she was an accomplished pianist who taught in the DC school system. She empowered future leaders as an inspirational music teacher. She, along with 21 other remarkable young women, founded Delta Sigma Theta Sorority in 1913. She was a native of DC and always supportive of the young sisterhood’s efforts. She did not like to be in the “limelight” but was wise enough to know when to lead and when to follow; therefore, very little information is available about her. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence #deltasigmatheta
