New preprint alert! I'm excited to share our latest work, "Long-term monitoring of Ziphius cavirostris behavior using 3D tracking from fixed hydrophone arrays off Southern California," now available as a preprint on Research Square. In this paper, we use passive acoustic tracking to generate a large dataset of beaked whale foraging dives. Insights from this dataset reveal previously unknown goose-beaked whale behaviors at depth and show that diving behavior can be studied long-term and across many echolocating individuals using this passive acoustic tracking approach. šŸ“Ž Read the full preprint here: https://lnkd.in/dmNnzASZ
