Senior Research Analyst
We're #hiring for a Research Analyst position in Chicago - this is a hybrid role, only two days a week required in office (in our new fancy office building with many amenities). We're happy to consider a wide range of experience, including new grads. Our firm is a Chicago single-office firm, with 130 attorneys. With a library department of 5 we have a high ratio of librarians to attorneys, reflecting the staffing need for the complex work we do, and the integrations we've built with other departments that we support. When we say that Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg, LLP has a different culture than most larger firms, it's not a cliché. Here are just a few reasons why: NGE stands for the rule of law and puts their name to it. We were one of very few large firms that signed the amicus brief in support of Perkins Coie's fight against the Trump administration's executive orders targeting law firms. Our firm stands behind DEI and hasn't backed down an inch. While many have quietly removed DEI information from their site, we've reaffirmed our commitment to diversity. Our firm is Mansfield-certified. On our site (not just a LinkedIn post) the firm explains Why Pronouns Matter. In 2024, NGE was named a Best Law Firm for Women and Diversity, and in 2025 we were named to the 2025 Best Law Firms for Talent, recognizing the firm’s commitment to talent & diversity. NGE believes in supporting mental health and work life balance. Many of our staff have joined us from big law firms for a better quality of life. Late evenings and weekend hours are rare at our firm for staff. And the firm offers many extra benefits and programs to support mental health including Modern Health (one of only two firms in the country to offer this) and the Headspace app. For peace of mind, the firm pays for Lifelock to protect your personal information. We support professional education and development. All library team members are fully funded for one national conference per year (no rotation!), and additional smaller programs as needs arise. Membership to one national association and any local chapters are paid for as well. We put our money and actions behind environmental protection. Our firm composts, provides ample recycling opportunities, participates in park clean-ups, and our new office at The Bell has achieved LEED Platinum Certification. In our recent office move, we strived to add nothing to landfills – working with companies that repurposed (mostly to charitable organizations) or recycled anything that didn't move with us. That wasn't a cost savings – it was about reducing harm to our environment. NGE is one of four firms globally to receive a platinum rating from the All Legal Industry Sustainability Standard (ALISS) assessment for sustainability and ESG efforts in the legal industry.
