Munich last week. Five days of conversations about the future of design — most of them good, a few of them great, one of them the kind you carry home. That one was with Christian Hanke. We met at a dinner late last year, just before Figma and Edenspiekermann kicked off their partnership. I didn’t expect much. I left thinking: that’s someone I want to keep talking to. Every time since — a livestream, a fireside at DDX on Saturday — the same thing happens. Time collapses. I forget the room. I walk away nourished in a way that’s hard to explain and easy to feel. It’s rare to find that in your professional life. Someone who genuinely moves you, every single time. This is just a public thank you — and a note to myself not to take it for granted.
