For most of my career, people have known me as the founder of Avafina Organics. But the truth is, Avafina was never really about food. It was about a question that has guided me for decades: What if human health begins long before the food reaches our plate? That question led me to organic agriculture. To farmers. To seeds. To soil biology. To studying nutrition, natural health, and food systems. And eventually, to building a company dedicated to bringing organic, plant-based foods to market. Over the years, I’ve learned that entrepreneurship is rarely a straight line. There have been moments of excitement, growth, and recognition. There have also been moments of doubt, exhaustion, and questioning whether the mission was worth the sacrifice. Yet one belief has never left me: ***Healthy people begin with healthy food, and healthy food begins with healthy soil.*** The more I learn, the more I realize that nature’s intelligence is extraordinary. The soil beneath our feet is alive. Seeds carry generations of information. And the choices we make today affect not only our own health, but the health of future generations. My work has never been about selling products. It’s been about participating in a larger conversation about how we grow food, how we nourish ourselves, and how we care for the living systems that sustain us. I don’t claim to have all the answers. I’m still learning. Still asking questions. Still growing.
