⚠️ The Legislature passed their budget, and the $50 million for CalOES YE and HY Pilot programs still isn't in it. Now it goes to the Governor. And we still have time to fight.   California has already lost nearly 500 youth-specific shelter beds in the past year alone. These programs—which have existed for nearly 10 years—provide young people across the state with shelter, food, housing navigation, and crisis support. Without renewed funding, communities in 12+ counties will lose the only youth-focused crisis response they have.   The negotiation between the Legislature and Governor Newsom is happening right now.
