The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has published its Home Buying and Selling (HBS) Roadmap, a once-in-a-generation commitment to reforming a system. For HM Land Registry (HMLR), this roadmap reinforces our existing strategic direction. Our Strategy 2025+ is driving the digital infrastructure, trusted data, and modern API services that will underpin the reforms set out today - from digital sales packs and property logbooks to near-instant data sharing across the transaction. Buying a home should not take 120 days, and one in three sales should not fall through. We are committed to playing our part in making the property market faster, fairer, and less stressful for everyone.
