TV writer’s brain with an ECD’s calendar.
Confession: A Publix cashier asked if I was excited about the World Cup finale. I didn’t want to disappoint him so I said, “Totally.” Then he asked who I was rooting for and I blanked so I just said “Messi.” Then he asked if I had gone to any games in Atlanta and I panicked and said yes. I didn’t even watch a game on TV let alone go to one. So of course he asked me which game I went to. I blurted out that I was too busy working at the game and I didn’t get to really even pay attention who was playing. He was confused. I was confused. Afterwards, I’m not sure if I put my cart away. It’s all a blur. The lesson: Read the brief thoroughly before ideating.
