Celebrating a Major Academic Milestone! A proud day for the Department of Architecture! Today, my PhD student, Mariam Mostafa Salman, successfully presented her groundbreaking research: "Executive framework for adaptation of green building rating system to the Egyptian context". This achievement was the result of a dedicated collaborative effort, and I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to the esteemed supervision committee Dr. Amr Gouda , Assistance Professor of Architecture, Ain Shams University Dr. @Mohamed Darder, Assistance Professor of Architecture, Ain Shams University. And the respectful jury commitee: Prof . Ahmed Atef Faggal Prof. Sherif Alattar . Mariam’s work tackles a critical gap in our industry. While the global conversation often focuses on technical performance, her research emphasizes that the social dimension of sustainability is often overlooked or poorly measured. By identifying local variables and socio-spatial factors, her new framework will directly improve decision-making and risk management for sustainable projects within our Egyptian communities. The built environment impacts human rights at every stage of the life cycle, and Mariam’s work ensures that "People" remain at the heart of the Sustainability triple-bottom-line.
