There is a reason some of the best product managers I know came from QA. Good QA requires strong reasoning, critical thinking and the habit of questioning how a product behaves beyond the obvious path. Those same skills translate incredibly well into product work. Done properly, it teaches you to understand users, risk, business logic and how different parts of a product affect each other. I wrote more about why QA and development team are not competing roles.
