Professional Services firms entering their next phase of PE-backed growth face a familiar inflection point. For AAB, that meant identifying a leader capable of demonstrating the value technology brings to enterprise value creation, while simultaneously taking ownership of the operational disciplines that underpin scalable growth. Following Goldman Sachs Alternatives' acquisition of AAB from August Equity, we partnered with Emma Lancaster and the leadership team on a search that prioritised PE-backed Professional Services experience, commercial fluency, and deal-side credibility alongside technology depth. Jon Grainger joined as Chief Operating Officer in April 2026 and is already leading cross-functional initiatives across operational excellence, workforce planning, governance, AI and automation acceleration, and transformation delivery.
