18 years after starting this company, and after helping more than 100 tech companies build their business in Japan, I finally had my first PAID speaking engagement… aaand it was about swimming. But that’s cool. I’m more passionate about that anyway. My goal was to help these kids (and their parents) understand that the superstars they look up to have all had their fair share of failures along the way, and the better they get at dealing with setbacks and continuing to charge forward, the further they’ll go in this sport, and perhaps in life too. I think they got the message, but they seemed to enjoy seeing my awesome pics from the 80s and 90s more. And for anyone wondering, my speaking fee is now two dinner buffet plates (for me and one of my kids), although I’m also willing to entertain offers of just one. Swim fast. Every day!!
