Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are gaining importance but they are sometimes misunderstood. An EPD is not a certification. It does not determine whether a product is more sustainable or “better” than another. Instead, it provides structured and verified environmental data based on a life cycle assessment. This means environmental impacts are captured across all stages of a product’s life – from raw material extraction and production through to use and end of life. 👉 In other words: EPDs do not judge – they make impacts visible.
