As Chinese companies expand globally at pace, the challenge is shifting from ambition to consistent execution across markets. At the Sino Swiss Business Forum in Shanghai, a key question emerged: how Swiss companies in #China can remain relevant as Chinese organisations scale internationally across different regions and regulatory environments, and what this means for the role of #Switzerland as a global partner. One clear takeaway is that scale is already happening. China’s non-financial outward direct investment has reached around US$140–150 billion annually since 2024, reflecting sustained momentum in cross-border expansion. The discussion then focused on what this means in practice. It also explored where Swiss and multinational companies can contribute. For global logistics partners like Kuehne+Nagel, combining international network with local expertise are critical to enabling cross-border #SupplyChains. Sharing a few takeaways below on how this is redefining partnership and the role of global supply chains. Thank you to SwissCham China for convening this timely discussion.
