Kshema General Insurance participated in InsureTech Connect ITC Asia 2026 in Singapore, represented by Sunil Mandava, Head of Engineering, and Amit N. , Vice President – Enterprise Risk Management. The event brought together insurance and technology leaders from across Asia to discuss trends, challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the insurance industry. It provided a valuable platform to exchange ideas, share perspectives, and explore how innovation can help insurers address emerging risks more effectively. Sunil also participated in a panel discussion titled "Climate and Disaster Risk: Challenges and Opportunities for Insurers". The discussion explored how insurers are adapting to a volatile climate risk landscape through data-driven underwriting, technology-enabled risk assessment, and stronger resilience strategies. Drawing on Kshema's experience as a digital-first insurer serving rural India, Sunil highlighted how climate risk is fundamentally an underwriting challenge, that requires insurers to move beyond historical patterns and adopt forward-looking approaches. He shared how satellite imagery, vegetation analytics, weather intelligence, AI and real-time monitoring are transforming the way climate risks are assessed and managed. One of the key themes of the discussion was the role of technology in making insurance more transparent and scalable. Sunil concluded the session by saying: "Measure us not by how fast we pay the claims, but by how many losses never happened." At Kshema General Insurance, we remain committed to leveraging advanced technologies, data-driven decision-making and digital innovation to strengthen resilience, expand access to insurance and deliver meaningful outcomes for underserved communities.
