Kshema General Insurance hosted an expert session on “Sustainable and Organic Farming Practices in India” with Dr.G.V.Ramanjaneyulu csa, Executive Director, Centre for Sustainable Agriculture (CSA), Hyderabad, as the keynote speaker. He was accompanied by CSA’s 𝗧 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗯𝘂, Programme Director (FPO), 𝗗𝗿. Divya Veluguri, Programme Director, Research & Policy, and Shloka Uchil, Project Coordinator. Members of Kshema’s leadership team, Rajiv Singh Bhadoria and C V Kumar, welcomed the CSA team and felicitated them. The discussion covered key themes such as soil health, regenerative farming, sustainable water management, informed crop planning, climate resilience, ecological approaches to pest management, rising cultivation costs, long-term agricultural sustainability and the role of ecosystem-based approaches in the future of farming. The team highlighted how sustainable farming practices can help build resilient agricultural systems while maintaining long-term ecological balance. The session also featured a presentation by 𝗕𝗮𝗷𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵 , who shared an overview of Kshema’s operations and technology-led processes. Dr. Saptarshi Mondal gave an overview of Kshema’s use of LULC maps developed in-house, and geo-tagging technologies leveraged by Kshema’s GIS team for field-level assessments. Adding an industry perspective, Mr CV Kumar shared insights on how sustainable agricultural practices align with the evolving crop insurance landscape. At Kshema, we actively raise awareness among farmers about climate-resilient practices, helping them better manage and mitigate risks arising from climate change. We thank Dr G. V.
