Co-design & Participation | Sustainable Tourism Systems | Climate Adaptation

🌊 How can we promote and accelerate coastal climate adaptation in Europe? We've just published our perspective in Environmental Science & Policy - bringing together 12 researchers across climate science, ecology, geography, spatial planning, law, health and tourism from Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Slovenia and the UK. Our key contribution: We introduce the concept of cross-sectoral transformation - linking individual interests and collaboration across coastal sectors with community well-being and ecosystem health. The article presents four concrete areas for interdisciplinary collaboration (see carousel šŸ‘‰). Why this matters: Coastal regions face urgent, complex challenges that cannot be solved by a single sector or discipline alone. šŸ¤ Through this work, we hope to encourage dialogue with other researchers and policy makers - both in and beyond Europe. šŸ“„ Link to the open-access article in the comments below.
