I left Silicon Valley to build in public | Ex-CMO | Investigating how AI is reshaping professional reputation so credibility earns the recognition it deserves.

I don’t think many people would argue that LinkedIn reach has dropped and the feed looks very different than it did this time last year. That’s exactly what my articles last week explored. Yesterday, though, the conversation shifted. Instead of debating impressions, we started talking about something much bigger: What is LinkedIn actually for? For me, it’s always been a people-first platform. The content isn’t the destination. It’s the conversation that helps us discover people, build relationships, and stay connected over time. After all, LinkedIn’s mission is: “Connect the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful.” That sounds much more like a professional network than a content app. But after reading hundreds of comments over the past two days, I realized something. Maybe that’s just how I see LinkedIn. We’re in the middle of one of the biggest shifts this platform has experienced in years, and I genuinely want to understand how other professionals see it. So I’d love your perspective. 📌 Please vote in the poll, but don’t stop there. 👇 Tell me why you chose your answer in the comments. The discussion is often far more valuable than the poll results themselves. I’m reading every response, and I may feature some of the most thoughtful perspectives (with attribution) in a follow-up article so we can continue this conversation.
