Mentorship is integral for business leaders to expand and develop their solutions. In this Singapore Business Review article, Sze Yeng Lee, Managing Partner at KPMG in Singapore, highlights that mentorship transfers something no curriculum can offer — the instinct and judgment forged through years of real decisions, real setbacks and real recovery. Sze Yeng, who is part of Singapore’s Economic Strategy Review (ESR) Committee on Entrepreneurship, noted that entrepreneurial success depends less on having the best idea. Rather, such success hinges on the ability to identify problems worth solving and earn the trust of the right partners and organisations. Her comments come on the back of the ESR’s final recommendations, which include support for Singaporeans to enter growth sectors through capability transfer as well as plans to strengthen entrepreneurship as a viable career path.
