๐ŸŽค BAD 2026 ๐Ÿ’™ Honoured to have presented both an oral presentation and a poster at the British Association of Dermatologists Annual Meeting 2026 in Manchester. My oral presentation explored โ€œDermatology as Narrative Languageโ€, examining how skin, hair and nail features are represented across popular visual media. Our work looked at how visible dermatological features are often framed through damage, identity, morality and concealment. More importantly, we looked at why this matters clinically when visible skin disease is experienced socially, not just medically. I was also grateful to present our poster on the use of optical coherence tomography in aesthetic dermatology, highlighting the growing role of imaging technologies in assessing skin structure and treatment response. Presenting at BAD as a medical student was a surreal and genuinely special experience, especially alongside such respected clinicians, academics and researchers in dermatology. A huge thank you to Professor Alison Layton for her supervision, guidance and support, and to all collaborators involved across both projects. Very grateful for the opportunity, the feedback, and the chance to contribute to conversations in a specialty I hope to pursue. #Dermatology #BAD2026 #MedicalStudent #Research #AcademicDermatology #MedEd #SkinHealth #Derm #BAD
