The shift from discussion to real-world industrial implementation is happening right now. Long-established Polish packaging manufacturer Drukarnia Tamir is taking a major strategic step by moving directly from a purely conventional offset environment into high-volume digital folding carton production with the Koenig & Bauer Durst VariJET 106. By adopting this hybrid production model, the family-owned company will replace older offset capacity for over 3,600 short- and medium-run jobs. Production that previously required two offset shifts will now be handled in just one VariJET shift, allowing Tamir to optimize its cost structure, reduce waste significantly, and free up capacity across its remaining offset presses. The single-pass press perfectly bridges the gap between digital flexibility and offset capability by printing on the exact same carton substrates, ensuring identical quality standards and maximum operational efficiency.
