Bilgisayar Mühendisliği Bölümümüzden Doç. Dr. Didem Unat ve Makine Mühendisliği Bölümümüzden Doç. Dr. Levent Beker, araştırmalarını gerçek dünya uygulamalarına dönüştürmeyi hedefleyen projeleriyle Avrupa Araştırma Konseyi Kavram Kanıtlama (ERC PoC) desteği almaya hak kazandı. 2026 yılının ilk ERC PoC çağrısında Türkiye'den destek alan yalnızca iki proje bulunurken, her iki proje de Koç Üniversitesi öğretim üyeleri tarafından yürütülüyor. Ayrıca Doç. Dr. Didem Unat, bu başarıyla ERC PoC desteğini kazanan Türkiye'den ilk kadın araştırmacı oldu. Doç. Dr. Didem Unat UNIPATH projesi ile büyük yapay zekâ modellerinin eğitildiği veri merkezlerinde veri iletişimini daha verimli ve enerji tasarruflu hale getirecek yeni nesil bir yazılım platformu geliştirmeyi hedefliyor. Doç. Dr. Levent Beker ise FIRST-SIGN projesi ile kalp hastalıklarının erken tanısı ve takibi için, kan almadan çalışan giyilebilir bir biyosensör teknolojisi geliştirmeyi amaçlıyor. Bu başarıyla birlikte, 2012 yılından bu yana Türkiye'ye kazandırılan 63 ERC desteğinin 36'sına ev sahipliği yapmanın gururunu yaşıyoruz.  Doç. Dr. Didem Unat'ı, Doç. Dr. Levent Beker'i ve araştırma ekiplerini kutluyoruz! Assoc. Prof. Dr. Didem Unat from our Department of Computer Engineering and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Levent Beker from our Department of Mechanical Engineering have been awarded ERC Proof of Concept grants for projects that aim to translate their research into real-world applications. In the first 2026 ERC Proof of Concept call, only two projects from Türkiye received funding, and both are being carried out by Koç University faculty members. With this achievement, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Didem Unat has become the first woman researcher from Türkiye to receive an ERC Proof of Concept grant. Through her UNIPATH project, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Didem Unat aims to develop a next-generation software platform that will make data communication in the data centres used to train large AI models more efficient and energy-efficient. Through his FIRST-SIGN project, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Levent Beker aims to develop a wearable biosensor technology that can enable the early diagnosis and monitoring of heart disease without the need for blood sampling.
