Prevention is one of the most powerful tools we have against TB, a key area that KNCV devotes efforts to.🤝 👉Recently, KNCV expert Jerod Scholten co-coordinated a workshop on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) in #Bulgaria. Jerod facilitated presentations and co-led targeted capacity‑building sessions on #tuberculosis (TB) and respiratory infections for 25 experts from Central, Eastern and Western Europe. Through a mix of practical presentations and hands-on sessions, participants strengthened their skills in: ✅conducting risk assessments, and ✅identifying priority administrative, environmental and respiratory protection measures in their settings. In his presentation, Jerod claims that it is always much simpler and less expensive, in terms of effectiveness and human lives, to prevent respiratory infections such as #TB than to treat them. Jerod is a member of the End Tuberculosis (TB) Transmission Initiative - Powering Airborne IPC (ETTi IPC) working group of Stop TB Partnership.👏 "An ounce of prevention is worth as much as pound of treatment".
