85 years ago, on November 30th, 1935, one of the greatest poets of the Portuguese language died. What many people don’t know, however, is that he started his literary career writing in English, when he still lived in Durban, South Africa. Indeed, from his poetry books published during his lifetime, only one was published in Portuguese, and the others in English: Antinous, 35 Sonnets, English Poems I, II and III.
